Fractal universe and quantum gravity.

چکیده
We propose a field theory which lives in fractal spacetime and is argued to be Lorentz invariant, power-counting renormalizable, ultraviolet finite, and causal. The system flows from an ultraviolet fixed point, where spacetime has Hausdorff dimension 2, to an infrared limit coinciding with a standard four-dimensional field theory. Classically, the fractal world where fields live exchanges energy momentum with the bulk with integer topological dimension. However, the total energy momentum is conserved. We consider the dynamics and the propagator of a scalar field. Implications for quantum gravity, cosmology, and the cosmological constant are discussed.

Phases and fractal structures of three-dimensional simplicial gravity
We study phases and fractal structures of three-dimensional simplicial quantum gravity by the Monte-Carlo method. After measuring the surface area distribution (SAD) which is the three-dimensional analog of the loop length distribution (LLD) in two-dimensional quantum gravity, we classify the fractal structures into three types: (i) in the hot (strong coupling) phase, strong gravity makes the s...
متن کاملRelations between the scales of length , time and mass
It is considered the model of the universe stable due to gravity. The evolution of the universe is specified by the motion of photon. Within the framework of classical physics, the scales of length, time and mass are related by the special relativity constant c and by the Newton gravity constant G. Within the framework of quantum mechanics, the scales of length, time and energy are related by t...
متن کاملTopology of Boundary Surfaces in 3D Simplicial Gravity
Recent numerical results obtained by dynamical triangulation for 3D and 4D suggest the existence of scaling behavior: for example, the number of simplexes at geodesic distance r, the fractal dimension and the volume of boundaries[1,2]. Furthermore, analytical results of 4D QG show scaling relations of the partition function[3]. The purpose here is to further explore the boundary surfaces of 3D ...
متن کاملReconstructing the Universe
We provide detailed evidence for the claim that nonperturbative quantum gravity, defined through state sums of causal triangulated geometries, possesses a large-scale limit in which the dimension of spacetime is four and the dynamics of the volume of the universe behaves semiclassically. This is a first step in reconstructing the universe from a dynamical principle at the Planck scale, and at t...
متن کاملEvolution of Information and Complexity in an Ever-Expanding Universe
Using the usual definitions of information and entropy in quantum gravity and statistical mechanics and the existing views about the relation between information and complexity, we examine the evolution of complexity in an ever expanding universe.
متن کاملCausal Dynamical Triangulation of Quantum Gravity in Three Dimensions
The theory of causal dynamical triangulation in (2+1) dimensions is studied through the help of Monte Carlo simulations. The basic ideas behind this particular approach to quantum gravity are outlined in the paper. The numerical setup and the results from the simulations are presented and discussed. Based on the numerical results, the theory is shown to possess a non-trivial classical limit. Th...
